More important than who Simone is, is what she cares about. The images and writing she creates are her way of communicating the beauty she experiences in nature. Her intention is to raise awareness of the sacredness of our natural world in an effort to encourage individuals and groups to care for our planet, and ultimately ourselves and each other.

     Simone Lipscomb is a nature writer and photographer who grew up on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Her love of nature comes from a direct relationship with the sacred energies found in the earth, sky, water, and air. Her deeply spiritual view of life inspires and guides her work.

    Her undergraduate degree is from Auburn University where she majored in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management. Her graduate degree is from Auburn University at Montgomery where she majored in Counseling. Simone is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer with PADI. She holds a Full Cave rating as a cave diver through NSS-CDS.

    Positions she has held include state park naturalist, mental health counselor, community college instructor, art teacher, and women's group facilitator. Currently she focuses on photographing the natural world and writing about her experiences with nature. Her major focus at present is documenting the Gulf Oil Spill Crisis and Recovery through photography, video, and writing.
