Scuba Instruction

The starting point to entering the amazing underwater world is snorkeling.  If you would like to explore without the constraints of shallower depths, scuba might be right for you.

Ask yourself these questions:

Do you like the water?

Do you enjoy venturing into new places and learning new skills?

Does clear, warm, salt water becon you?

Do you want to meet a sea turtle nose to nose?

Would you enjoy travel to exotic destinations?

Do you like to have fun?

If scuba is calling your name, we can help you get your PADI Open Water Certification. We teach independently, although we are affiliated with NADCO, a dive shop in Greensboro, NC. Our classes work around your schedule.  They are small and can be customized for you or your group.

Regular diving is a MUST to keep up your skills. A great way to dive locally in North Carolina is through the PDRA. Click the logo to link to their site. We do some of our check out dives in Yancyville at the quarry there. There are two other PDRA quarries in the state.

Open Water Scuba Diver is the basic course. You will learn in different experiences- classroom, DVD's, homework, pool sessions and open water check out dives. We'll have fun, learn new skills and prepare you to begin diving safely with a buddy on your own. There is a 50 question written exam and short chapter reviews students must pass.

Advanced Open Water Diver is the next step in learning to dive. We recommend this class to everyone because it is supervised dive experience and it is FUN! We do five dives over a period of at least two days. You can do it all locally, on a dive trip with us or part of it can be done locally and part can be done while on a dive vacation. You will learn to dive a little deeper and how to navigate underwater. The other three dives include a variety of possibilities such as a night dive, drift dive, wreck dive, fish identification dive...we will customize your AOW class to suit your interests. There is no written exam but there are chapter reviews you must complete.

Rescue Diver is the next step in scuba training. We believe this is the best class PADI offers in dive education. You will learn self-rescue techniques, equipment configuration, how to assist stressed or tired divers and much more. This two day class is a LOT of fun! You will need 20 open water dives logged and your CPR/First Aid certificaiton. There is a written exam and chapter reviews students must pass as well as other written requirements.

Dive Master is the first professional level of diver education. We offer this course to divers who are ready to begin supervising other divers and assisting in classes. There are written tests, skill tests, more rescue training and quite a bit of classroom work involved in this course. If you are ready to move forward as a diver and feel helping other divers is your path, we can help you prepare through the PADI Dive Master course.
